Consulting Site Reliability Engineer

About the Role

The Consulting Platform Engineer is a highly experienced individual who operates with minimal supervision and is recognized as an expert in their field. This role involves evaluating, designing, and implementing technology solutions to advance business strategies, often serving as the application owner for third-party software within a line of business. The incumbent will collaborate with vendors to understand software changes, assess their impact on business continuity, and align solutions with the bank’s technology roadmap. If part of an agile team, this role works closely with the product owner to refine user stories and ensure effective technology solutions. The position also provides guidance to less experienced engineers and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison with software vendors for systems used by a specific line of business.
• Stay informed about upcoming changes and enhancements in vendor software and assess their impact on the business.
• Collaborate with the line of business to design and implement solutions incorporating software changes.
• Understand the business technology roadmap and recommend the continued use or elimination of third-party software solutions.
• If part of an agile team, work closely with the product owner to ensure user stories are clear and actionable for developers.
• Implement and maintain new features while continuously improving the quality of technical products and services.
• Follow industry and organizational best practices, and participate in communities of practice to refine and communicate standards.
• Drive operational excellence by automating processes and creating maintainable, supportable, and testable solutions.
• Stay current with technology trends and innovations in your field.
• Provide operational support and troubleshooting for your team’s products and services.
• Mentor, coach, and train less experienced team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technology field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Ten or more years of engineering or IT work experience relevant to the position.
• Outstanding problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to work in a highly collaborative environment.
• Significant experience with modern software development practices, tools, and/or hardware technologies.
• Deep understanding of IT security best practices.
• Expertise in one or more technical and/or functional domains relevant to the position.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex technical solutions.
• Ability to coach and guide other individuals.

Pay

Total base pay range: $121,900.00 - $262,100.00 USD annually. Individual salaries within this range vary based on factors such as role, skillset, experience, education, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for incentive compensation based on company, line of business, and individual performance.
