About the role

Design and optimize transportation and logistics solutions for global clients in a hybrid work model with day shifts and no travel. The role focuses on improving supply chain efficiency, enhancing shipment visibility, and reducing operational risk across multimodal freight operations using data-driven insights and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end analysis of transportation and logistics processes to identify bottlenecks and recommend practical improvements that enhance service quality and reduce cost per shipment.
  • Develop detailed operating models for routing, scheduling, and carrier allocation to help clients balance on-time delivery performance with optimal utilization of fleet and warehouse resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional client teams in planning, operations, procurement, and finance to align transportation strategies with wider supply chain and business objectives in a hybrid work environment.
  • Design standardized workflows and operating procedures for order management, freight planning, dispatch tracking, and proof of delivery to create predictable and auditable logistics operations.
  • Create performance dashboards and key performance indicators covering on-time performance, dwell time, load factor, freight cost, and exceptions to support data-driven decision-making for transportation managers.
  • Prepare business cases and cost-benefit analyses that quantify savings from route optimization, mode shifts, contract renegotiations, and process automation to demonstrate tangible value for clients.
  • Configure and support transportation management systems and related digital tools to enable load planning, tendering, carrier communication, and track-and-trace capabilities in line with client requirements.
  • Document current and future state processes, data flows, and control points to ensure that transportation and logistics solutions are robust, compliant, and ready for scalable deployment.
  • Guide junior team members in executing analysis, preparing client-ready documents, and validating data assumptions so that project deliverables maintain high quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with technology partners to translate transportation requirements into clear specifications for system enhancements, integrations, and reports that support daily logistics operations.
  • Conduct stakeholder workshops and review sessions to gather feedback on proposed solutions and adjust designs in order to improve usability and operational adoption.
  • Support change management activities by preparing training materials, process playbooks, and reference guides that help client users adopt new transportation practices with confidence.
  • Monitor post-implementation performance of transportation initiatives and refine recommendations based on real-world data to ensure that benefits are sustained over time.

Requirements

  • Eight to ten years of professional experience with a strong focus on transportation and logistics operations across modes such as road, ocean, air, or rail.
  • Deep knowledge of transportation planning, carrier management, and freight execution in designing solutions that improve reliability and cost efficiency for large shipping networks.
  • Hands-on experience in using transportation management systems or similar logistics platforms to manage loads, monitor shipments, and generate operational reports.
  • Familiarity with supply chain concepts such as network design, warehouse operations, and inventory flows to ensure that transportation recommendations fit the broader logistics ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in spreadsheets and data visualization tools to interpret transportation data and communicate trends to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills to prepare structured documents, present findings, and facilitate discussions with client stakeholders in a hybrid working context.
  • Exposure to process improvement methodologies such as lean or continuous improvement to structure initiatives that streamline logistics workflows.
  • Professional certifications or training in supply chain or logistics disciplines as an advantage, while emphasizing practical experience in transportation and logistics as mandatory.
