The Strategy, Change Management & Leadership Consulting Director leads complex, multi-workstream engagements that help organizations define strategy, align leaders, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and achieve sustainable change. This role is responsible for shaping and executing enterprise and functional strategies; designing operating models, governance, and transformation roadmaps; and leading organizational change, leadership development, culture, communications, learning, executive coaching, and adoption efforts that translate strategic priorities into measurable results. The role requires strong executive engagement, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to advise senior leaders through ambiguity, build organizational alignment and capability, and deliver outcomes in complex, deadline-driven environments.
Responsibilities
- Client Leadership & Engagement Delivery
- Lead end-to-end strategy, organizational effectiveness, change management, and leadership engagements, including diagnostic assessment, future-state definition, roadmap development, implementation, and sustainment.
- Maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor to executives on strategic priorities, leadership alignment, culture, stakeholder engagement, organizational design, and change adoption.
- Ensure all engagement workstreams operate within scope, timeline, and budget, with clear deliverables, dependencies, quality standards, and measurable outcomes.
- Oversee development of high-quality strategies, executive readouts, transformation roadmaps, operating model documentation, leadership materials, and decision frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, methodologies, and professional standards.
- Strategy, Transformation Governance & Value Realization
- Facilitate enterprise, business unit, and functional strategy development, including environmental assessment, stakeholder input, strategic choices, initiative portfolios, success measures, and implementation roadmaps.
- Establish transformation governance structures, including executive steering routines, decision forums, workstream charters, accountability models, and risk and issue management.
- Develop and manage integrated program plans, benefit cases, stakeholder strategies, communication plans, and implementation milestones.
- Track and report strategic performance, organizational readiness, adoption, engagement, risks, and value realization; define KPIs and recommend course corrections.
- Organizational Change, Leadership and Executive Coaching & Culture
- Design and lead integrated change strategies for enterprise transformation, digital and technology adoption, organizational restructuring, operating model shifts, workforce transitions, and other strategic initiatives.
- Conduct stakeholder, organizational impact, culture, readiness, and resistance assessments; translate findings into sponsorship, engagement, communication, learning, and reinforcement plans.
- Advise executive sponsors and leadership teams on change leadership, strategic alignment, decision effectiveness, team performance, role clarity, and culture activation.
- Design and facilitate leadership workshops, strategic planning sessions, alignment forums, capability-building programs, coaching engagements, and change champion networks.
- Develop change narratives, leader toolkits, communication campaigns, learning strategies, adoption measures, and sustainment approaches that reinforce desired behaviors and business outcomes.
- Business Development & Market Growth
- Identify and pursue strategy, organizational effectiveness, change management, culture, and leadership consulting opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Develop proposals, pricing models, statements of work, methodologies, and playbooks for strategy execution, operating model transformation, organizational change, leadership development, and culture.
- Represent the firm in presentations, conferences, and industry events to expand market presence.
- Develop marketing content and thought leadership related to strategy execution, transformation leadership, organizational effectiveness, culture, employee experience, and change adoption.
- Team Leadership & People Development
- Build and lead cross-functional project teams across multiple clients and industries.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical expertise to consultants and managers.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within engagement teams.
- Support recruiting and onboarding for talent aligned to strategy, change management, organizational effectiveness, and leadership consulting services.
- Risk & Compliance
- Identify risks across transformation initiatives and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adherence to professional, regulatory, and ethical standards.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client and firm information.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Communications, or other relevant field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent license or credential.
- 15+ years of experience in strategy consulting, organizational transformation, change management, organizational development, leadership development, or related advisory services.
- Experience serving clients across multiple industries, including public sector, healthcare, technology, energy, financial services, manufacturing, or consumer markets.
- Demonstrated success leading complex strategy and change programs, including executive alignment, stakeholder engagement, organizational impact assessment, culture, communications, learning, adoption, and value realization.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, client-facing communication, business development, and executive-level presentation skills.
- Expertise in strategic planning, operating model and organizational design, leadership and team effectiveness, culture transformation, and structured change management methodologies and tools.
- Ability to translate qualitative and quantitative insights into practical recommendations, compelling narratives, implementation roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
- Proficiency with Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and other collaboration, survey, presentation, and project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant advanced degree or professional credential such as Prosci Change Management Certification, Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or an equivalent strategy, leadership, coaching, or organizational development credential.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position is $175,000 to $205,000. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location.
