Consulting Actuary – Pharmacy

About the role

The Consulting Actuary – Pharmacy serves as a senior-level individual contributor within the Pharmacy Analytics team, supporting the organization’s pharmacy strategy through advanced actuarial and analytical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with all levels and divisions within the organization, including Divisional Leadership
• Serves as a subject matter expert for pharmacy rebate trends and forecasting
• Maintains and forecasts pharmacy profitability, communicating findings to leadership
• Provides actuarial support for corporate pharmacy initiatives
• Collaborates with key pharmacy stakeholders, including senior leadership, on relevant pharmacy topics
• Monitors industry news and ensures the company remains competitive
• Reviews advanced data analytic methods and identifies opportunities for improvement
• Works with external vendors, including PBM partners
• Represents actuarial team during meetings with management from other functional areas
• Performs complex actuarial analyses and generates actionable insights
• Supports strategic decision-making to drive business outcomes
• Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders and other actuarial teams to align with enterprise priorities
• Guides and oversees junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely deliverables

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
• Member of the American Academy of Actuaries
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries
• 7 years of relevant actuarial experience, with related experience considered
• In lieu of an FSA, candidates with an ASA designation and at least 9 years of relevant actuarial experience may be considered
• Experience with Pharmacy Analytics is highly preferred
