As a PW&A Consultant, you will plan and execute components of tax incentive studies while working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. You will collaborate externally with contractors, subcontractors, and project owners, and internally with project managers, attorneys, engineers, and analysts to identify client value and drive project success. You will help develop best practices and processes that ensure compliance with federal regulations, including the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022, while supporting team growth and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. This role is within the Energy Services line, which assists companies by increasing their credit values through the prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements under the IRA.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and Production Tax Credit (PTC) team and with clients, tax-exempt organizations, government entities, and private entities, to identify, analyze, and quantify certified payroll, apprenticeship program, and IRS documentation
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with IRS requirements
  • Create, implement, and maintain procedures and processes for compliance, ensuring alignment with IRS and Inflation Reduction Act requirements
  • Collaborate with the attorney’s team to create legal defense strategies for tax compliance for the IRS
  • Ability to own and actively manage multiple projects across a variety of clients performing projects in the renewable energy space
  • Develop into and become the Subject Matter Expert on tax incentive specialty issues
  • Directly impact and interact with clients, including executives, by serving as their prevailing wage and apprenticeship compliance consultant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Preferred 1+ years of professional experience with Davis-Bacon Act (DBA), Related Acts (DBRA), or IRA within the construction industry or within the government
  • Experience with one or more of the following: certified payroll, Form WH-347, apprenticeship programs, collective bargaining agreements, wage determinations
  • In-depth knowledge of the Inflation Reduction Act
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess compliance risks and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal personnel
  • High sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities
  • Receptiveness to performance feedback within a team environment is essential
  • Ability to analyze legal documents accurately
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Available to travel 20-30% within the United States
  • Candidate must reside or relocate to Houston, TX
