About the role
The Consultant, Annuity Data Analyst serves as a strategic partner between the Annuity business, technology teams, Enterprise Data Office (EDO), and Data Governance organizations. This role leads complex, cross-functional data initiatives that translate business strategy into actionable data, technology, and operational solutions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary business liaison across Annuity business partners, Information Technology, Enterprise Data Office, and Data Governance teams to support ongoing data initiatives and issue resolution.
- Translate business objectives into actionable data requirements, business rules, user stories, backlog items, process impacts, and delivery priorities.
- Lead business-side definition, prioritization, and execution of annuity data initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational needs.
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions to drive consensus, resolve issues, and establish priorities across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Partner with Data Governance and Data Stewardship teams to establish and promote effective governance practices, standards, and controls.
- Define, validate, and monitor data quality controls related to conversions, workflows, defects, and migration activities.
- Lead efforts to identify, prioritize, and remediate data quality issues impacting reporting, operations, and stakeholder confidence.
- Drive adoption of enterprise data solutions by ensuring data is understandable, accessible, and trusted by business users.
- Partner with technology teams on PALLM modernization initiatives, data migrations, and related transformation efforts.
- Serve as Product Owner for assigned technology workstreams, as needed, providing business direction and backlog prioritization.
- Guide the design and organization of annuity data within Snowflake and other enterprise platforms to support reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
- Avoid assessing upstream and downstream impacts across annuity administrative systems and related operations to ensure successful solution implementation.
- Analyze data flows, business processes, and system dependencies across platforms such as PALLM, CALIPSO, and CIS.
- Connect business requirements with technology execution while balancing strategic objectives against day-to-day delivery demands.
- Support stakeholder understanding, adoption, and effective use of annuity data assets and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Approximately 7+ years of experience leading business and technology-enabled data initiatives.
- Experience managing or influencing product backlogs, prioritization activities, defect management, roadmap planning, and requirements development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex and ambiguous business needs into actionable data and technology solutions.
- Proven ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment in a complex, cross-functional environment.
- Deep understanding of annuity administrative systems, data structures, and the relationship between upstream and downstream business processes.
