Responsibilities

  • Provides operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, that include monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting
  • Prepares and records journal entries
  • Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters
  • Performs project start up activities, such as following project work plans, adhering to schedules, and attending kickoff meetings
  • Reviews the work of self for accuracy
  • Serves as an integral member of our Business Consulting Services team
  • Occasionally travels to client locations, firm trainings, or industry conferences

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience, not for profit and/or governmental experience preferred
  • Experience in one or more of the following preferred: grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including proven commitment to providing exceptional client service via multiple communication methods (email, phone, chat, helpdesk ticket system, etc.)
  • Ability to understand problems, think critically and identify creative solutions
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, proven ability to prioritize while simultaneously managing numerous projects/processes often under tight deadlines
  • Self-directed professional with strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to collaborate and work effectively across functions/departments/teams while building trusted relationships
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and one or more government accounting/grant management software systems
  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 10-15%

Benefits

Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees. In Oklahoma: pay rate range is $62,000 to $95,610 In Seattle, WA: pay rate range is $79,800 to $114,730 In Utah: pay rate range is $62,000 to $95,610
