Construction Worker - Carpenter

About the role

Morton Buildings is expanding its construction crews and employee ownership opportunities. As the industry leader in post-frame construction, we have over 10 manufacturing, fabrication, and shipping plants nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply Morton Buildings' safety and construction procedures, methods, and standards
• Read, understand, and build according to construction plans
• Utilize various tools and equipment to construct buildings safely and efficiently
• Execute tasks such as digging and installing footings, framing walls and roof structures, installing windows, entry and other doors and door openings, installing siding and roofing materials, finishing with metal and wood trims
• Work with other crew personnel in a safe, organized, productive, and enjoyable work environment

Requirements

• Building construction (post-frame), carpentry, or framing experience (on the job or in school)
• A valid driver's license is preferred
• Available to work 9-10 hours during peak construction season
• Ability to take direction and produce quality work in an efficient manner
• Willingness to comply with safety processes and procedures and operate construction tools safely and effectively
• Capable of working in a physically demanding environment and at various heights (up to 40 feet)
• Eligible for 20% travel, including overnight travel up to two weeks at a time

• Agree to comply with all safety processes and procedures
• Capable of lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally

Pay

Salary is $21.00 to $23.00 per hour based on experience.
