Construction Worker

About the role

We’re looking for a full-time Construction Worker to install and maintain our interstate logo signs—the ones that tell you when to exit for food, gas, etc. The role involves installing and maintaining ground-mounted signs along controlled and non-controlled access roadways. You’ll receive a schedule of jobs from the Operations Manager and drive to each location in a company-provided truck. Travel is frequent, with up to 4 nights a week away from home, and occasional stretches of 10 consecutive workdays.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain ground-mounted signs along controlled and non-controlled access roadways
• Install and remove additional signs attached to ground-mounted signs, requiring work at heights of 20-30 feet
• Perform vegetation control, including removal of trees, brush, and weeds around signs
• Organize and clean warehouse space and supply yard area
• Complete reports on completed jobs using brief written sentences
• Take photographs to catalog completed jobs

Requirements

• Familiarity with the use and maintenance of construction power/manual tools and basic construction equipment and machinery
• Skill in using tools such as chain saws and wood chippers for sign installation, maintenance, or removal
• Ability to lift at least 100 pounds
• Ability to work at heights of 20-30 feet
• High school education or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license (commercial driver’s license preferred but not required)
• Willingness and ability to earn a National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) certification upon hire
