Construction Technician (Entry-Level)
ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Field Technician to join our Nashville team and advance in a dynamic work environment. All training and certifications are provided, and you’ll earn a pay increase within your first 90 days after completing your certifications.
Responsibilities
- Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials (soils, aggregates, and concrete) on construction materials testing project sites.
- Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers.
- Perform routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using industry-standard methodologies and equipment.
- Conduct calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspections; assist with drafting and administrative duties as needed.
- Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers regarding site conditions, testing requests, and equipment status.
- Attend project meetings as requested and assist with the organization of field equipment.
- Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; document findings precisely in accordance with accepted engineering practices.
Qualifications
- No prior experience required; high school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Willingness to learn heavy construction safety practices and procedures, CMT principles, ASTM laboratory standards, and obtain certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
- OSHA 10 certification may be required.
- Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Candidates with the following US Military ranks (E-4) may qualify for this position if they also meet the education and license requirements listed above.
