Project: Large pharmaceutical/GMP-regulated construction project in Indianapolis, IN.
About the role
Field-based position serving as the field oversight and technical leader for mechanical and HVAC installations systems during construction. You will verify installations against approved IFC drawings, specifications, and validated submittals, and identify/escalate any deviations that could impact compliance, system readiness, or turnover.
Responsibilities
- Verify construction activities are performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and validated submittals.
- Perform field inspections of HVAC systems, piping systems, ductwork, and mechanical equipment.
- Identify, document, and escalate installation issues, risks, or deviations that could impact project quality or schedule.
- Review contractor documentation including RFIs, weld logs, inspection records, pressure testing packages, material certifications, and as-built documentation.
- Support mechanical completion activities, walkdowns, punch list management, and turnover readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience supporting mechanical and piping systems on large-scale pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems supporting cleanroom environments.
- Experience with AHUs, ductwork, chillers, mechanical equipment, and associated HVAC controls.
- Hands-on experience performing field verification and construction quality oversight.
Pay
$120–$140/hr all-inclusive, depending on experience.
Schedule
Long-term contract, fully onsite Monday–Friday.
