Construction Surveyor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Affords assistance with survey computations and data collection including construction layout calculations, grade sheet computation, topographical/volume analysis, and project data conversion/transformation.
• Prepares and maintains sketches, maps, reports, and as-built surveys.
• Calculates heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain.
• Oversees survey aspects of civil engineering projects and/or directs preparation of all types of survey plans.
• Conducts plan research and review.
• Performs fieldwork associated with land surveying.
• Executes business with 100% integrity and professionalism.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with heavy civil projects and structures.
• Experience must show current proficiency operating a robotic tool station, GPS, and level.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of geological description principles and methods.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, legal codes, and government regulation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be detail oriented, organized, focused, self-motivated, possess good work ethic and be a team player.
• Ability to travel will be required.
• Valid Driver’s License required, and candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Report background check.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Must be able to work outdoors on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
