Construction Supervisor

About the role

Supervise the daily operations of a construction team in aerial or underground telecom cable projects, ensuring efficient execution while maintaining quality standards and safety. This role is crucial in delivering ITG's commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction in the telecom cable industry.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily activities of a team of technicians or workers in telecom cable construction projects to ensure execution aligns with timelines, quality, and cost.
• Enforce strict compliance with safety regulations, certifications, and company policies to maintain safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Assign tasks and schedules to team members, including ITG employees and business partners, ensuring proper resource allocation and equipment availability to optimize productivity and delivery.
• Monitor work progress and quality, ensuring adherence to project timelines and standards.
• Provide training and guidance to team members, including linemen and drillers.
• Address and resolve operational issues as they arise, including on-site customer interactions.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for management review to enable timely decision-making and improvements.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safety practices.

Key Performance Indicators: Team productivity metrics, safety incident rates, work stoppages due to rule violations, quality control metrics, rework rates, employee retention rates, project completion times, customer satisfaction scores, equipment utilization and maintenance metrics, adherence to budget and cost control measures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or technical certification in a related field preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in telecom cable construction (aerial or underground).
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Proven track record of safe work practices and quality delivery.
• Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and construction work practices.
• Familiarity with telecom, broadband, and power industry projects.
• Experience with construction management software and tools.
• Understanding of basic financial concepts related to project budgeting and cost.
