Construction Supervisor

About the role

FiberTel, LLC is hiring a Telecom Construction Supervisor for our Portland, OR location.

Responsibilities

• All phases of telecommunication construction include but are not limited to: Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment.
• Maintain strict build-out schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met
• Perform inspection of job sites and individual work duties
• Maintain a daily job-site log
• Perform quality control duties per job site
• Participate in required supervisor meetings
• Achieve timely completion of the project and ensure that the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes
• Have a good understanding of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
• Have a good understanding of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus (Higher wage scales apply to CDL holders)
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
• Able to work in all weather conditions

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years telecom experience
• 1-3 years of experience as a construction foreman
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
• Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
• Able to perform all duties in telecommunication construction
• Able to travel

Physical Requirements

• The employee will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time)
• Tolerate work in extreme weather conditions
• Speak and hear worksite safety instructions
• Regularly lift 75 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
