Construction Superintendent - Healthcare

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise all job site activities.
  • Keep track of project progress and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and quality standards.
  • Supervise staff, provide work direction and constructive feedback.
  • Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance.
  • Resolve on-site issues and emergencies.
  • Follow and enforce established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean jobsite.
  • Complete projects on time and on budget.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of commercial construction experience as a Superintendent on projects of at least $20M in size.
  • At least one (1) year of healthcare construction experience required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites.
  • Ability to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
  • Self-driven, motivated, and able to work effectively and independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Available to work overtime, possibly including weekends as needed.
  • Pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.

  • At least one (1) year of healthcare construction experience required.

About the Role

The Healthcare Superintendent plays a key management role in the organization and implementation of the project from start to finish in the field. The role reports directly to the General Superintendent and works closely with the Project Management staff on all aspects of the project.
