Construction Specialist

About the role

Culver Academies is seeking a Construction Specialist to perform work related to construction, installation, and repair of buildings, grounds, and associated systems on our historic 1,800-acre campus in Culver, Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Examine and comprehend blueprints to determine required dimensional layouts for buildings and building systems.
• Perform tasks such as measuring, cutting, forming, fastening, framing, welding, tuck-pointing, drywall and concrete finishing, painting and staining, wiring, soldering, and threading.
• Operate equipment including telescoping forklifts, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, augers, and man lifts.
• Work on utilities, excavation, masonry, framing, roofing, finishes, electrical, and HVAC systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or HSE.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to frequently lift or move items weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs.
• Demonstrated job skill proficiency in construction trades.
• Strong interpersonal skills and openness to others’ views.
• Ability to work productively in a team environment while balancing team and individual responsibilities.
