Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel to maintain workflow and productivity.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and other documentation for on-site activities.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and company policies; conduct regular toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
  • Schedule and supervise critical path activities, ensuring efficient utilization of labor and materials.
  • Collaborate with project managers to maintain project schedules and budgets, providing regular updates on on-site progress.
  • Facilitate coordination between trades, ensuring work is sequenced and completed efficiently.
  • Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment allocation, and site organization.
  • Conduct pre-installation meetings to ensure all parties understand the scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Monitor and enforce quality control standards, ensuring all work meets project requirements and client expectations.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, inspectors, and ownership representatives.
  • Mentor and oversee Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents, providing leadership and performance oversight.
  • Anticipate constructability issues and drive proactive solutions to mitigate schedule and cost impacts.

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams on-site.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure project accuracy and completeness.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with OSHA standards and regulations.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification is required; additional safety certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to enforce safety protocols and foster a culture of safety on-site.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software is a plus such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Ability to represent the firm in high-level client and stakeholder meetings.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or large, high-risk scopes.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred.
  • Experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
  • 10-15+ years of progressive on-site construction management experience, including experience as a lead or senior superintendent.
  • Experience in interiors, mechanical, civil, or utility services.
  • Extensive experience managing large-scale, complex, or occupied projects.
  • Experience with healthcare construction projects is highly preferred.

Pay

$130,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year (commensurate with skills & experience)
