About the Role
As a Security Officer at DK Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties. Your duties will vary depending on the specific contract, offering a diverse and challenging work environment.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Be a positive reflection of the company by assisting client staff, visitors, and coworkers while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Observe and Report: Stay alert for suspicious activities and incidents.
- Security Presence: Maintain a professional appearance while standing guard in lobbies, reception areas, control centers, and other assigned locations.
- Security Patrols: Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
- Access Control: Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, verify employee and vendor IDs, and follow proper access procedures.
- Safety Patrol: Enforce policies and procedures, report safety concerns, and maintain a secure environment for employees and visitors.
- Emergency Response: Assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED and communicating with emergency personnel using proper protocols.
- Security Liaison: Maintain professional communication with client staff, follow through on requests, and update site supervisors on all client communications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- Must pass a drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana; federal compliance required).
- Must not have felony convictions or misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information/evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk (including stairs) for 8–12 hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs (70 lbs for armed positions).
- Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (or willing to become certified) and physically capable of administering lifesaving care.
- Must have 20/20 vision (corrected if necessary) and be able to hear conversations in loud environments (in-person or via radio).
- Must be able to use a smartphone or computer for emails and online training.
- Must fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills, personal integrity, and a positive attitude.
- Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.
Note: Current employees on active disciplinary probation, those previously removed from this contract, or former employees on disciplinary probation at separation are ineligible.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Military veterans and individuals with security, firefighting, corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.
Pay
$17.60 per hour.
Schedule
Various shifts (Monday–Sunday), including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
