About the role
Build the Plan. Drive the Work. Shape What's Next: Scheduler Construction doesn't happen without a plan — and great plans don't happen without great schedulers. If you're the person in the room who sees the critical path before anyone else draws it, who can read a Gantt chart and a room full of supers with equal confidence, Boyd Jones wants to meet you. We're hiring a Scheduler to support our growing Mission Critical and vertical construction portfolio — an immediate need for someone who's ready to do meaningful work from day one.
What You'll Own
- Build, maintain, and update baseline schedules using P6
- Lead weekly schedule reviews; own the look-ahead process with field teams
- Track progress, analyze variances, and surface risks before they become delays
- Translate complex schedule data into clear reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Support preconstruction, procurement timelines, and critical path analysis
- Participate in pull-planning sessions with field leadership
What's In It For You
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Growth: Boyd Jones is investing in its scheduling function, which means upward mobility is real, not aspirational
- Work that matters: Mission Critical construction is high-stakes, high-visibility, and technically demanding. You'll work on projects where your schedule directly impacts outcomes — not just timelines
Who Thrives Here
- Analytically sharp and people-smart
- Can hold your own in a technical conversation with a project executive and turn around to explain the same thing to a subcontractor in plain language
- Work with urgency and precision, and you don't wait to be asked- you see the problem on the horizon and you bring it to the table with a plan
Requirements
- 3–7 years of construction experience with real exposure to scheduling and project controls
- Proficiency in Primavera P6
- Strong communication skills — you know how to present, not just report
- Working knowledge of commercial construction means and methods
- A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Bonus: resource-loaded schedule experience and cash flow/forecast reporting
