Construction Sales Specialist
About the role
As a Sales Specialist in Construction Sales, you will research and analyze your market territory, develop sales strategies, cultivate leads, and persuade prospects to purchase WM services—all with minimal supervision—to achieve targeted revenue goals. You will expertly manage a highly qualified prospect pipeline and support the Builders Direct program. This is a work-from-home position, but you must reside in the greater Phoenix, AZ area.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction in all sales transactions.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales activity goals: 50 dials per day, 1 new account per day, and a close ratio of 55–75%.
- Execute outbound telephone sales campaigns to meet aggressive weekly and monthly targets.
- Manage a customer base, addressing all aspects of customer needs.
- Attract, generate, manage, and record leads from outbound telephone marketing.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Exhibit proficient knowledge and use of personal computers and software applications.
- Propose compliant customer solutions in line with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Effectively use Waste Management sales productivity tools (e.g., Prospect and Customer Database, Proposal Program, Pricing Tools).
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
- 2 years of sales experience (in addition to education requirement).
Physical Requirements
This role primarily operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. As a work-from-home position, you must maintain a designated, quiet, and distraction-free workspace that supports productivity and professionalism. The successful candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently, manage priorities, and take initiative with minimal guidance.
