Construction Sales Consultant

Morton Buildings, Inc. is the industry leader in post-frame construction, with over 120 years in business and more than 10 manufacturing, fabrication, and shipping plants servicing over 100 construction centers nationwide. As a full-time Sales Consultant, you will be self-driven and motivated to increase market share within an assigned geographical territory while cultivating new customers and developing relationships with long-standing customers.
This challenging yet highly rewarding role operates in a team environment focused on delivering unparalleled quality buildings backed by superior warranties. Approximately 70% of the role is pre-sale responsibilities—prospecting, lead generation, customer presentations, solution development, and guiding customers through early buying stages. The remaining 30% centers on post-sale project management, ensuring a seamless customer experience by coordinating project details, communicating with internal teams, and supporting the build through completion.

Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate leads to develop an adequate sales funnel to meet or exceed established sales budgets.
- Grow existing market share and maintain availability during construction-related work hours.
- Coordinate all individuals involved in building projects, including Morton Buildings personnel, subcontractors, and permitting requirements.
- Manage pre-sale activities such as customer presentations, solution development, and guiding customers through the buying process.
- Oversee post-sale project management to ensure a seamless customer experience from pre-sale to completion.
- Maintain customer confidentiality and strong communication with internal teams.
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics CRM to maintain an accurate and organized sales pipeline.
- Integrate various technologies into daily activities to manage complex projects effectively.
Requirements
- 2 years of sales or account management experience preferred OR 5 years of construction management experience.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, construction, or project management preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Minimal overnight travel required beyond initial training and onboarding period.
- Must reside within 30 miles of assigned territory within 30 days of hire date.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written).
Open sales territories include areas within Stillwater, OK; Winfield, KS; Valley Center, KS; and Iola, KS.
Pay
Starting annual pay range of $65,000 to $85,000. The pay plan includes a base salary, training subsidy, and commission. Earnings expand year over year as consultants build experience, grow their portfolios, and benefit from annual increases.
