Key Responsibilities
- Participate in daily safety talks and review upcoming job tasks with field teams.
- Identify potential jobsite hazards and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits across assigned construction areas.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, project safety plans, and general contractor requirements.
- Provide safety orientations for new employees arriving at the project site.
- Assist with safety training related to fall protection, emergency response, hazard recognition, personal protective equipment, and other jobsite topics.
- Review tools, equipment, and work practices to verify they are appropriate for the assigned task.
- Support incident and near-miss investigations, including documentation, root-cause review, and corrective-action follow-up.
- Deliver safety documentation, audit results, and required information to the general contractor.
- Work with project managers, superintendents, foremen, employees, subcontractors, and vendors to improve site safety.
- Address unsafe work practices directly and professionally.
- Help develop and maintain site-specific safety and training plans.
- Support clinic visits, substance-abuse testing, and claims-related activities when required.
- Maintain accurate and inspection-ready safety records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- At least one year of professional safety experience.
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and general construction safety practices.
- Ability to recognize workplace hazards and recommend corrective measures.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to address unsafe behavior.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- One to three years of safety experience within construction, industrial, mechanical, electrical, or mission-critical environments.
- Previous experience supporting data center construction projects.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- CPR, First Aid, AED, or bloodborne-pathogen training.
- Experience conducting employee orientations, jobsite audits, or incident investigations.
