About the role

We are seeking a Construction Safety Manager to promote and ensure site safety. This role involves comprehensive knowledge of day-to-day safety field operations, including planning, coordinating, and enforcing safety regulations and codes. You will teach and coordinate site-specific trainings, assign and monitor new hire trainings, and serve as the point of contact for all safety-related matters to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment. You must be local to the Conesville, OH area and willing to report on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement site and project-specific safety plans, including:
    • Safety orientation and training
    • Job Hazard Analysis and high-risk activity identification and mitigation planning
    • Fatigue management plan
    • Pre-task plan
    • Stretch and bend program
    • PPE requirements
    • Housekeeping, signage, barricade plans
  • Schedule, coordinate, and/or perform equipment safety checks
  • Teach safety-related classes (Aerial lift, LOTO, electrical safety, etc.)
  • Coordinate other site-specific training with electrical contractors and GCs
  • Prepare and submit weekly safety reports
  • Walk the site to identify hazards and mitigation strategies
  • Supervise high-risk activities
  • Collaborate with other subcontractor safety professionals to develop site improvements
  • Participate in weekly safety committee meetings
  • Investigate injuries, property damage, and near misses, and participate in Root Cause Analysis

Requirements

  • BCSP Certification (minimum of Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), ASP, or CSP)
  • 5+ years of experience in construction safety
  • First Aid, Narcan, Bloodborne Pathogens, CPR, and AED training
  • Emergency procedures training
  • Mental Health First Aid Training
  • Current OSHA 510 certification
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety certification
  • Knowledge of Safetymojo, BIM 360, and Procore
  • Ability to walk 8+ miles per day
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
