About the role

A Construction Quality Director is needed for a ground-up construction project in Saint Louis, MO. This role involves continuous training and mentoring, submittal and shop drawing reviews, and frequent job site walkthroughs. The Quality Director oversees construction quality, leads quality training sessions, and ensures compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource to the project team, participating in submittal and shop drawing reviews, and attending trade pre-construction meetings.
  • Oversee construction quality through the process until completion, developing and facilitating quality training sessions.
  • Lead job site pre-installation meetings, manage subcontractor quality plans, and assist in creating better plans for specific tasks.
  • Research building materials, ensure compliance, and suggest changes as necessary.
  • Assist in the production of Quality presentations, develop practical quality education opportunities, and provide technical advice to field and office personnel.
  • Enforce constructability reports, establish and maintain effective processes, and maintain the Quality Program.
  • Coordinate and establish budgets for the Quality Department, produce quality bulletins, and collaborate with the Project Team to develop job-specific quality procedures.
  • Review field work, report, and photograph work in place, and assist in Trade Contractor Job Specific Quality Plan reviews.
  • Maintain relationships with the Trade Contractor Quality individual or team, and collaborate with the Project Teams to ensure excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • BS Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related curriculum and 10 years of professional Construction Quality Management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.
  • Valid Driver’s License to operate an AECOM provided motor vehicle on construction project site(s).

Qualifications

  • Understanding of ASTM standards and knowledge of construction testing procedures.
  • Understanding of the multiple building codes, requirements, etc.
  • Experience in all construction-related trades, including building envelopes, life safety, interiors, MEP/FP.
  • Experience in large construction, ground-up projects in: aviation construction, sports/stadium/arena, high-rise convention center.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of various construction types and science concepts.
  • Ability to work with project managers to assist in developing scopes of work.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

$130,300.15 - $241,055.29 annually
