Responsibilities

Represent the Owner in construction administration activities in accordance with contract requirements, Owner policies, and applicable procedures.

  • Intake, review, log, and track RFIs, submittals, potential change items, and other contractor correspondence for contractual and procedural compliance.
  • Identify appropriate distribution lists and route documents to design, construction management, and Owner stakeholders for review and response.
  • Track responses and ensure timely closure of all construction correspondence through Owner-approved document control systems.
  • Aid the Construction Project Manager(s) with drafting correspondence, responses, task orders, change orders, and other contract-related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and complete project records, logs, and correspondence files in Owner-approved document and project management systems.
  • Cook up monthly project reports, summaries, dashboards, and status updates for the Owner.
  • Attend weekly construction solutions meetings, look-ahead schedule meetings, and other project meetings on behalf of the Owner’s team.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and detailed meeting minutes documenting discussions, decisions, action items, responsible parties, and due dates; obtain approval of meeting minutes from attendees.
  • Distribute meeting minutes in accordance with Owner procedures and track action items to closure.
  • Aid the Construction Project Manager(s) by identifying unresolved issues, recurring risks, and coordination concerns discussed during meetings.
  • Coordinate with third-party stakeholders including utility companies, materials testing laboratories, surveyors, source inspectors, and construction inspection teams.
  • Review and understand contractor-provided six-week look-ahead schedules and short-term planning documents.
  • Aid the Construction Manager in tracking planned versus actual activities and identifying potential conflicts, constraints, or coordination issues.
  • Coordinate with construction management, inspection staff, and third-party stakeholders to verify upcoming work activities reflected in look-ahead schedules.
  • Maintain logs or summaries of look-ahead activities and required actions as directed.
  • Support the Construction Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Project Controls Manager with research, documentation review, and fact-finding related to contractor disputes and claims.
  • Aid in the development of fact-finding reports, chronologies, and Owner position papers to support dispute resolution and claims avoidance.
  • Maintain organized and complete records to support negotiations and issue resolution.
  • Advise the Construction Project Manager(s) and project staff of document status, outstanding actions, and administrative risks.
  • Perform other construction administration and project support duties as required to support successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • Experience with UnifierAbility to interpret construction schedules.
  • Ability to problem solve and provide possible solutions to the engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) $88,000 - $120,000
