Construction Project Manager Intern (Summer 2027)

About the role

ARCO/Murray is looking for highly motivated Project Manager Interns who are passionate about the construction process to join the team for the Summer of 2027. At ARCO, every associate is empowered to drive their project’s performance and profit from day one.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with estimating—describing project proposals and assigning dollar values.
• Create and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion by subcontractors.
• Attend design meetings with owners, structural engineers, and architects to understand project design.
• Handle buyout processes: send bid instructions, schedules, and drawings to subcontractors; evaluate proposals; and award subcontracts.
• Review shop drawings and submittals with the Project Manager and design team; communicate with subcontractors on upcoming work.
• Work with the Project Manager on billing tasks, including managing subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, pay applications, and project cost status.
• Visit jobsites with the Project Manager and collaborate with Project Superintendents to ensure smooth project execution.
• Participate in weekly training sessions covering role-specific knowledge, business operations, building trades, and leveraging an engineering background to solve client needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering program or related field of study.
• Prior industry internship experience is a plus.
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus.

Pay

Typical hourly compensation for the Project Management Internship role ranges from $31.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on location, academic level, and prior experience.
