Construction Project Manager Intern (Summer 2027)

About the role

ARCO/Murray is looking for highly motivated Project Manager Interns who are passionate about the construction process to join the team for the Summer of 2027. At ARCO, every associate is empowered to drive their project’s performance and profit from day one.

Responsibilities

• Assist with estimating: describe project proposals and assign dollar values.
• Develop project schedules: create working timelines for subcontractors.
• Attend design meetings with owners, structural engineers, and architects.
• Manage buyout: send bid instructions, schedules, and drawings to subcontractors; evaluate proposals and award subcontracts.
• Review shop drawings and submittals with the Project Manager and design team; communicate upcoming work to subcontractors.
• Support billing activities: manage subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, pay applications, and project cost status.
• Visit jobsites with the Project Manager and work with Project Superintendents to ensure smooth project execution.
• Participate in weekly training sessions—held virtually, in-person, at jobsites, and self-guided—to deepen knowledge of building trades and leverage an engineering background to solve client needs as a design/builder.

Requirements

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering program or related field of study.
• Prior industry internship experience is a plus.
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus.

Pay

Typical hourly compensation for the Project Management Internship role ranges from $27.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on location, academic level, and prior experience.
