About the role
Ruston Paving is a commercial and industrial paving construction contractor with offices in New York, Virginia, and North Carolina. Established in 1943, we are a family-oriented company that has been in business for three generations. Our company is capable of all types of asphalt paving projects ranging from minor repairs to major rehabilitation and new construction.
Responsibilities
- Estimating for hard bids and negotiated contracts, including the interpretation and quantification of plans and specifications, surveying of existing site conditions, solicitation of material and subcontractor bids, cost estimating, and the preparation of bid documents and proposals.
- Assisting senior Project Managers in the planning, scheduling, purchasing, subcontract management, contract administration, customer relations, and all other activities necessary to carry a project from award to start-up through completion and final payment.
Requirements
- Currently working toward earning a Bachelor of Science degree in a construction-related discipline is preferred.
- CADD experience preferred but not required.
- Fluent in English. Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
- Possession of a valid drivers license and clean driving record is required.

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills demonstrated by the ability to deal with situations deviating from standardized and/or planned situations or procedures.
- Strong computer skills, including being proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.
