About the role

William Charles Electric, a MasTec Company, is seeking a Project Manager to support our Clean Energy & Infrastructure Power Delivery Group. The Project Manager will manage substation and transmission line electrical construction projects from pre-construction to completion, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Establish site-specific safety requirements in partnership with the safety team.
  • Create a Project Execution Plan with pre-construction and operations personnel.
  • Monitor financial aspects including cost monitoring, cost and revenue projections, change order logs, under/over-billing reports, and invoicing.
  • Maintain project records.
  • Manage procurement of materials and subcontractors, including on-site management, receiving, progress reporting, invoicing, and committed cost management.
  • Submit monthly cost to complete projections.
  • Conduct pre-construction planning with the project team, estimate reviews, and procure necessary permits and licenses.
  • Communicate with contracting parties and owner’s representatives, both verbally and in writing.
  • Handle project closeout, including final documentation, invoicing, and retainage release.
  • Build relationships in local marketplaces.
  • Interact with the project team, business leaders, and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Project Manager I: High School diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred). Experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree. 3 to 5 years of medium/high voltage substation and transmission line construction industry experience.
  • Project Manager II: High School diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred). Experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree. 5+ years of medium/high voltage substation and transmission line construction industry experience.
