About the Role

Plans and manages projects of significant complexity and risk, including hospital facility renovations, new construction, and space reallocation. Oversees all phases of the project life cycle—planning, design, procurement, construction, schedule/cost management, risk management, and close-out. Ensures projects comply with all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and regulations. Provides leadership and management to deliver project goals, ensuring objectives for cost, quality, safety, client satisfaction, and schedule are met.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, designs, and executes multiple construction and renovation projects to meet program requirements, budget, safety, and time constraints.
  • Prepares project management plans for all assigned projects.
  • Coordinates projects with impacted stakeholders and provides ongoing communication about project impact and status.
  • Develops move and equipment management plans and leads implementation.
  • Manages the procurement process, including contract negotiations resulting from Request for Proposal selection.
  • Obtains required hospital approvals (e.g., legal and management) and submits documentation for purchase order issuance.
  • Documents project information accurately and ensures project files and electronic records are current and complete.
  • Ensures compliance with AHCA, ADA, NFPA, OSHA, and local building codes.
  • Follows up on issues and concerns, taking corrective measures as needed.
  • Identifies and evaluates project risks, implementing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to avoid delays or cost overruns.
  • Reviews progress and status of projects, identifying activities to ensure deliverables, milestones, and tasks are completed on time.
  • Assists in developing and delivering project management training, workshops, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related field OR 5 years of equivalent work experience (Required).
  • 4-7 years of experience in healthcare project management, commercial construction, or facilities planning/capital project management.

Skills

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Ability to implement procedures ensuring safety and security.
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD computer-aided design software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and project management software.
  • Ability to prepare project scope, budget, and schedule documents.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and delivery strategies.
