About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized Project Manager to oversee financial budgets, coordinate subcontractors, and manage the construction process to meet contractual requirements. Responsibilities include organizing schedules, tracking inventory, overseeing material ordering, and managing projects from start to finish. The role requires managing project schedules, hiring subcontractors, negotiating contracts, obtaining permits, and supervising construction, repair, and design-build projects to ensure completion within time and budgetary constraints.

Project Managers control the time, cost, and quality of construction projects for government, commercial, and industrial clients. They plan and coordinate all aspects of the construction process, working with engineers, architects, vendors, field personnel, logistics professionals, and others to complete projects successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily coordination with project site superintendents, updating leadership on construction progress and support needs.
  • Collect and organize all electronic documentation for each project, including pre-bid, bid, pre-construction, construction, and close-out documents.
  • Develop pre-construction submittals for client review and approval, including material submittals, quality control, safety, risk management, and design quality control plans.
  • Coordinate with internal and external agencies to draft and edit work plans and other design packages.
  • Provide routine communication with vendors, subcontractors, customers, and personnel via email and phone.
  • Utilize Procore, US Army Corps of Engineers Record Management System (RMS), and similar project management software to input, manage, and track project data.
  • Prepare, submit, and update project data, reports, and submittals to meet contractual requirements, including:
    • File daily reports.
    • Prepare and transmit submittals on time.
    • Update schedule progress and provide management tools to clients and leadership.
    • Track client review of submittals and follow up as needed.
  • Identify material and equipment requirements and coordinate delivery to meet timelines.
  • Prepare project budgets with schedules of values, and develop, coordinate, and submit draft and final invoices for payment.
  • Coordinate inspection and oversight with the Client’s Quality Assurance Representative to minimize project delays.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the Site-Specific Safety and Health Plan and other safety documents.
  • Participate in pre-bid site visits, site investigations, kick-off meetings, and pre-construction meetings.
  • Coordinate work requirements with Assistant Project Managers.
  • Perform other administrative and management tasks to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Three years’ experience as a construction project manager or in a similar position in construction management.
  • Ability to manage and motivate employees, teams, and subcontractors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with Microsoft Project, Procore, and other construction management software is highly beneficial.
  • In-depth understanding of the construction industry, including knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations.
  • Experience working with federal Government contracts is preferred.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a computer workstation for several hours at a time.

Additional Information

  • Duties are performed primarily in PSP’s Brentwood, TN office.
  • Occasional travel to vendor locations, work sites, and off-site meeting locations in the United States, with all related expenses paid by the company.
