Responsibilities
- Cook up and oversee the completion of activities across all stages of the project cycle for facilities-related construction projects.
- Inspect the work of contractors to ensure that it meets the design specifications and building codes.
- Conduct weekly project status reports and enter contract status and other project data into MAXIMO or similar IT systems.
- Prepare and distribute project communications with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders.
- Assist the Contracting Officer and COTR with acquisition planning, execution, and administration.
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals, and conduct pre-bid and pre-construction site visits.
- Validate invoices for partial or full payment and assist in the preparation of Contractor Performance Reports (CPR).
Requirements
- Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 10 years of project management and construction experience.
- At least 5 years of experience managing technical aspects of commercial or government interior design or construction projects.
- Thorough knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements.
- Working knowledge of: Information Technology, mechanical, electrical, or communication systems; systems furniture and specifications; AutoCAD; Microsoft Office Suite and Project software packages.
- Demonstrated experience in: Gathering and defining design requirements with requesting customers and preparing alternative solutions ranging from conceptual design to final design within established parameters; creating or reviewing design and construction documents, preparing project specifications, developing record control documents, and generating presentation graphics; preparing cost and schedule estimates; collecting, preparing, and reporting programmatic information; coordinating design activities with architecture, engineering, safety, security, construction, and other related functional areas; managing and monitoring architecture and engineering (A&E) firms and construction firms for multiple projects during the design and construction phases and handling contract close out; interacting with personnel (Government and Contractor) at all levels in hierarchy; communicating (written and oral) well with all levels of audiences using clear and concise language.
- Ability to work within a US Government organization and follow established processes and procedures.
- Handle multiple, demanding, and complex projects in a timely manner with accurate results.
- Work independently and in team situations.
- Work nights and weekends, as required, for operational necessities.
- Travel domestically or overseas, as required.
- Experience working in a classified environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- Highly motivated to continue to develop professional licenses, certifications, and expertise through formal training and on-the-job experience.
- Professional Project Manager certification.
- Experience using AutoCAD preferred.
