Construction Project Manager

About the role

Manage each project assigned according to Forgen corporate philosophy of safe, quality production while securing the most favorable economic outcome for Forgen.

Responsibilities

• Drive a safety culture which promotes Incident and Injury Free Performance.
• Provide initial client contact to assess scope of work and resources required to successfully complete project.
• Assist with estimating and proposals of assigned bid opportunities with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, production rates, subcontractors and overall project approach.
• Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
• Develop basic project schedules.
• Administer all project cost administration processes, including completing/reviewing project budget, weekly receiving reports, cost reports and providing monthly cost and revenue forecasts.
• Ensure accurate production reporting and interface with client representatives.
• Administer all subcontractors.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions, including scheduling, engineering, material control, and provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff.
• Understand general contract administration and all project contract requirements.
• Recognize changes in project scope and or conditions, and develop claims and lead claim and change negotiations.
• Supervise employees and subcontractors as required by the contract.
• Hire and take disciplinary actions with all assigned project staff.
• Provide technical assistance, such as interpretation of drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment.
• Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
• Assume responsibility for productivity of employees, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the projects.
• Be responsible for the overall profit and loss for assigned projects.

Qualifications

A BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent, and five years of progressive Project Management experience, including direct supervisory experience in deep foundations and earth retention projects, are required.

Skills

• Skilled in project controls software, including Excel, Microsoft Office/Project, Primavera (P6); AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.
• Strong understanding of construction engineering, codes, standards, and cross-functional relationships.
• Excellent written/verbal communication and leadership skills; able to resolve complex contract issues independently.
• Highly motivated, safety-focused, ethical, and committed to doing quality work.
• Strong time management, attention to detail, and sound decision-making abilities.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive on behalf of company business.

Preferred Qualifications

• TWIC card holder preferred.
• In-Situ Stabilization project experience is a plus.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• Preferred safety training includes 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training, Competent Person Safety Training, 8-Hour Supervisory Training, 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training, and First Aid and CPR.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This office-based role requires frequent computer use and effective communication, with occasional travel to project sites as needed. Site visits may involve extended periods of standing or walking and required PPE, with potential exposure to heavy equipment, chemicals, dust, fumes, uneven terrain, and extreme weather.
