Construction Project Manager

About the role

The Project Manager is responsible for the documentation, cost management, and implementation of project controls for NACC utility construction projects. This includes business development efforts, estimating, procurement, proposal development, technical project execution, change management, and client management. The role ensures project requirements are met or exceeded during execution and serves as the primary contact for NACC Construction on assigned projects, reporting project status to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Possess and maintain broad and in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, procedures, and standards related to industrial and commercial electrical installations, with extensive knowledge of Industrial Electrical installations and Process Automation.
• Price and prepare change orders for changes in scope, maintaining a log of all submitted change orders and their approval status.
• Work with the customer to ensure timely approval of change orders and collaborate with the Field Superintendent to ensure work does not begin until written approval is received.
• Maintain and update the project schedule, including commodity installation trackers and "Earned vs Burned" manhours.
• Align with the Superintendent on appropriate manpower loading for various project stages.
• Approve purchase orders and vendor invoices for assigned projects.
• Align with the client on project progress billing, prepare progress billing certificates, and facilitate billing at defined intervals.
• Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation and compare project documents for accuracy and consistency.
• Review revised drawing sets against previous versions and document changes, assessing if a formal change order is required.
• Prepare RFIs for submittal and maintain the RFI log, including response status.
• Participate in the estimate review process with internal stakeholders.
• Schedule and attend field walks with customers, subcontractors, and NACC Construction personnel as required.
• Assume ultimate responsibility for the cost management of the project, collaborating with the Superintendent to bring the project in at or under budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field experience preferred.
• 5-10 years of gas and electrical facilities experience, including 2 years of management experience.
• Extensive familiarity with electrical gear and knowledge of gas and electrical installation methods and materials.
• Experience working for an operating utility company is desirable.

Pay

Salary range: $140,000–$150,000 per year, depending on experience.
