Key Responsibilities
- Manage overall project execution from project approval through completion and closeout.
- Oversee multiple concurrent construction projects ranging from approximately $100K to $10M in value.
- Direct day-to-day construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with project controls to maintain project schedules, forecasts, and cost reporting.
- Develop and implement project execution plans, staffing plans, procurement plans, and construction quality programs.
- Cookordination project turnover, warranty administration, closeout documentation, and record retention.
Safety & Quality
- Promote and enforce project safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Lead project safety, quality, progress, and financial audits.
- Oversee project-specific non-conformance reporting and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Verify project permits, licenses, insurance, bonding, and compliance requirements are maintained.
Client & Contract Management
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for project-related communications and updates.
- Participate in project risk assessments and mitigation planning.
- Negotiate contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and related project agreements.
- Manage contract administration activities including RFIs, submittals, change management, claims mitigation, and closeout.
- Review and present project status reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial updates to leadership and clients.
Construction Operations
- Coordinate with engineering teams to support timely delivery of engineering packages and construction deliverables.
- Manage procurement activities and subcontractor performance.
- Oversee materials management, receiving, inventory control, storage, and transportation.
- Review field reports and monitor project progress.
- Cookordinate commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.
- Support communication with governmental agencies, industry organizations, and public stakeholders.
- Lead commissioning and startup activities.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead project teams including field staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Mentor Assistant Construction Project Managers, Construction Coordinators, craft supervision, and interns.
- Support staffing plans, onboarding efforts, and workforce development.
- Provide performance feedback and coaching to project team members.
- Manage labor planning, crew rates, labor classifications, productivity metrics, and workforce utilization.
- Foster strong relationships with local building trades and labor organizations when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Applicable industry experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
- Minimum 7 years of construction project management experience.
- Experience managing construction projects from planning through closeout.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and risk management.
- Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, and client relationships.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with project management, scheduling, document control, and cost management software preferred.
