Construction Project Manager
About the role
This role leads multiple interior construction projects from inception to completion, with a focus on commercial fit-outs and interior renovations. The Construction Project Manager oversees schedules, budgets, and quality, while coordinating closely with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors to deliver projects on time and within scope. Responsibilities
- Manage multiple interior construction projects simultaneously, from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Oversee commercial interior construction and fit-out projects ranging from approximately $100,000 to $1 million, typically managing 5–12 projects at a time and growing to 10–12 projects within 90 days.
- Coordinate daily with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment on project scope, schedule, and expectations.
- Develop, maintain, and track detailed project schedules and budgets, ensuring projects stay on time and within financial targets.
- Prepare, review, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and submittals, ensuring accuracy and timely communication to all stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, verify workmanship, and ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Identify project risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure all materials, equipment, and resources are procured and delivered according to schedule to avoid delays.
- Lead and participate in project meetings, providing clear, regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain thorough project documentation, including schedules, budgets, RFIs, change orders, submittals, and progress reports.
- Apply strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods related to carpentry, millwork, drywall, painting, framing, and flooring in interior commercial environments.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, delivering a high level of customer service and responsiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with estimating and other internal teams, including following up on bids and supporting high-volume project pipelines.
- Use project management and construction software tools to track progress, manage documentation, and facilitate communication.
- Support continuous improvement of project delivery processes and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $52.88/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
