Construction Project Manager
About the role
We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our construction project management team. This leadership role involves overseeing project managers, ensuring the effective delegation of workloads, and maintaining a comprehensive project schedule.
Responsibilities
- Manage, support, and hold project managers accountable.
- Create and update the project schedule.
- Assign and delegate workloads.
- Establish department priorities and monitor deadlines, contracts, billing, procurement, documentation, maintenance, warranties, and closeout.
- Review project performance and address deficiencies.
- Escalate major risks, client issues, financial concerns, and staffing needs.
- Coordinate daily with field operations regarding field priorities and resource requirements.
- Maintain a current list of all active projects and evaluate each project manager’s workload, experience, and capacity.
- Assign projects based on complexity, value, risk, schedule, location, client, and workload. Reassign projects when workloads become unbalanced.
- Identify projects requiring direct involvement or increased oversight.
- Maintain various schedules including seasonal, two-week look-ahead, weekly, and daily coordination.
- Provide monthly management reports addressing project status, schedule performance, billing and requisitions, procurement, budget and cost concerns, and major risks.
- Conduct contract reviews to identify scope of work, exclusions, billing requirements, and any unusual financial, operational, or legal exposure.
- Oversee project managers in performing contract reviews, change orders, client communication, budget management, and project closeout.
Requirements
- 6-10 years of experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, particularly in Heavy Civil, DOT Projects, or governmental agencies.
- Ability to manage schedules, budgets, look-aheads, and construction paperwork.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Bluebeam or Procore, RFI, and Change Order processes.
Skills
- Experience with DOT governmental agency client work.
- Expertise in landscape construction sitework.
Work Environment
The role requires presence in the office from 8 AM to 5 PM, with 20 percent travel to job sites as needed.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $62.00 - $67.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Schedule
This is a Contract position based out of Paramus, NJ, and is fully onsite.
