Construction Project Engineer (New Grad 2027)

About You

S&B Services is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager who is passionate about the construction process to join our team in Amarillo. At S&B, every associate is empowered to drive their success. Project Managers have complete responsibility for project performance, customer satisfaction, and managing a project from start to completion.

A Day In The Life

• Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout
• Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget
• Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees
• Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors
• Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule
• Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues
• Lead weekly/bi-weekly Owner Advisory Committee (OAC) meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client
• Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports
• Local travel to project sites within the city is required

Necessary Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering program, Construction Management or related field of study
• Open to full-time opportunity post-grad
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0
• Prior construction internship experience is a plus
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus
