About the role
This is an on-site role supporting our Hyperscale Data Center project in Spartanburg, SC. We have immediate opportunities for Construction Project Engineers to support our EPCM projects. As a Construction Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting project delivery by managing project information, coordinating documentation, and helping ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in executing and managing the change management process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Act as a key contributor in monthly cost reporting meetings, providing meaningful insights and analysis
- Adhere to and support project controls procedures, including cost tracking, pay applications, and reporting
- Coordinate and expedite material procurement and delivery to maintain project schedules
- Review and evaluate shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contract documents
- Ensure all project documentation is collected, organized, and distributed effectively across stakeholders
- Promote innovation by encouraging teams to explore creative solutions to challenges and opportunities
- Foster a customer-centric approach, proactively reviewing feedback and strengthening client relationships
- Demonstrate understanding of various market sectors and delivery methods to enhance service delivery
- Mentor and coach junior team members, supporting their professional growth
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 2 or more years of experience with a general contractor, construction manager, or large trade contractor
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to set measurable performance goals and hold teams accountable
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, collaboration, and engagement
- Understanding of financial management principles and how project performance impacts profitability
- Ability to tailor communication style to diverse audiences, including delivering clear presentations and technical documentation
- Working knowledge of construction cost controls and reporting practices
- Familiarity with MEP systems and coordination
- Strong understanding of contract documents, specifications, and construction processes

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $69,500.00 to $95,500.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
This role follows a hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
