Responsibilities
- Maintain a working knowledge of project plans, specifications, and subcontracts while working directly with project owners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare and monitor purchase orders.
- Manage correspondence with owners' onsite representatives, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare and track shop drawings, submittals, and other project-related documentation.
- Manage and oversee Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and workplace environmental compliance activities.
- Assist the Project Superintendent in ensuring timely project completion through scheduling, material management, expediting deliveries, and tracking submittals and approvals.
- Track project quantities and production.
- Assist with project scheduling in accordance with Critical Path Method (CPM) requirements.
- Implement and monitor project traffic control plans and programs.
- Maintain project records, cost coding, employee hours, and budget tracking.
- Support job site safety efforts by working directly with the Company Safety Manager to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and FMCSA requirements.
Requirements
- Experience in heavy civil construction, enrollment in a Construction Management program, or pursuit of a Civil Engineering degree.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, dependable, proactive, and punctual.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities.
- Willingness to travel and work at remote project locations throughout Alaska.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with project scheduling software.
- Experience with HCSS HeavyJob.
- Traffic Control Supervisor Certification (TCS).
- Alaska Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (AK-CESCL) certification.
