About the role
The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator 3 (CPC3) to join our Parks Development Division in Lacey, Washington. This permanent full-time position reports to a professional engineer and provides project management services for proposed future capital projects.
Responsibilities
- Solicit, develop and negotiate AE agreements, personal service contracts, emergency contracts, and interagency agreements.
- Administer AE agreements, personal service contracts, emergency contracts, and interagency agreements.
- Represent the agency while coordinating with internal staff, consultants, elected officials, and the public.
- Provide construction management services for capital construction projects to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Coordinate with park staff and others during construction.
- Develop written reports addressing progress and compliance issues.
- Travel to park construction sites.
- Develop capital budget submittals, including scopes of work, project cost estimates, and assist in the development of operational impacts for proposed capital projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, landscape architecture, or a closely related field.
- At least 4 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years developing and preparing design & construction documents in the office of a licensed or registered architect or engineer, and experience managing architectural, job site, and/or utility construction projects.
- A valid unrestricted driver's license is required.

- Capital Project Oversight: Proven ability to manage full life-cycle capital construction.
- Construction Management: Provide construction management services and/or manage A&E construction management services for park construction projects.
- Technical Credibility: Ability to review complex civil construction drawings, specifications, and environmental or zoning constraints.
- Budgeting & Cost Estimation: Ability to develop capital budget submittals, forecast project costs, and evaluate operational impacts.
- Stakeholder Management: Skill in representing the agency while coordinating with internal staff, consultants, elected officials, and the public.
- Communication & Reporting: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to write clear, objective progress/compliance reports and communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences.
