Construction Project Accountant

About the role

Seeking a Project Accountant to support project finance and billing operations. Ideal candidates have 1-3 years of accounting or billing experience, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. Construction experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Job Billings for complex customer contracts
• Reconcile Sheet Metal divisional revenue monthly
• Enter Estimates into software
• Maintain job master files, updating contract values and estimates as change orders are received
• Maintain Certificate of Insurance files (paper and online)
• Oversee Master Subcontract files
• Enter subcontracts into software ensuring insurance is up to date
• Answer payment questions from suppliers on pay-when-paid contracts
• Cross-train and back up other areas: Accounts Payable, Billing, Cash Posting, Job Creation, Subcontracts, and Payroll
• Handle annual reporting for 1099 NEC, 1099-MISC, and 1099-INT
• Contribute to annual audit, as directed
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experience with AIA Billings, Schedule of Values, MBE reporting, Lien Waivers, and Time and Material billings
• Familiarity with tax exemptions and use tax
• Familiarity with multiple divisions and locations is preferable
