Responsibilities
- Cut, shape, and assemble metal materials, including steel, aluminum, and other metals, according to blueprints or technical drawings.
- Perform various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc, etc.) to join metal pieces and ensure structural integrity.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to fabricate components correctly.
- Assemble and install prefabricated metal parts, including frames, supports, or systems, in construction or industrial settings.
- Ensure all fabricated metal parts meet design specifications and quality standards through inspections and testing.
- Operate and maintain machinery such as shears, presses, and bending machines to form metal components.
- Regularly inspect and maintain hand tools and power tools to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to meet project timelines and specifications.
- Keep track of materials and ensure the availability of supplies required for fabrication.
- Address and resolve any issues or defects during the fabrication process to ensure smooth project progress.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience as a metal fabricator or similar role in construction or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Knowledge of various welding and metalworking techniques.
- Strong understanding of safety practices and ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
