Construction Materials Testing Technician I

About the role

This Opportunity WSP’s Engineered Construction team is growing, and we have opportunities for Construction Materials Testing Technicians in Atlanta, GA to perform field inspections and observations for commercial, industrial, and transportation related construction projects. We are seeking experienced construction engineering inspectors.

Who You Are

• Required Qualifications:
  • 0-2 years Construction Materials Testing experience either on commercial/industrial construction projects with emphasis on concrete testing and inspections.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A Valid Driver’s License.
  • A Good driving History.
  • Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • Must pass physical, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent graduate with Associates or BS in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management.
  • ACI Field Level I certification (concrete sampling and field testing).
  • Fluent in Spanish, Japanese, or Korean.
  • Working towards BS in the above or BS in Civil Engineering.
  • IBC Commercial Building Inspector Certification.
  • ICC Soils Certification.

Physical Demands

Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work. Ability to stoop, kneel and to routinely lift and carry 50 pounds. Clean driving record and capable of being insured for driving company vehicles. Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
