Position Overview

Kleinfelder is seeking a Project Manager to join our Construction Materials Engineering and Testing team in San Jose, CA. This role provides professional services for construction materials testing projects and collaborates with clients to deliver complex programs/projects.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide professional services for construction materials testing projects
  • Perform accurate computations and review laboratory test reports
  • Review daily observation reports and materials testing data sheets
  • Collaborate with staff and actively work with clients to deliver complex programs/projects
  • Aid in proposal preparation and fee estimation
  • Plan and execute technical work
  • Aid in monitoring and controlling project budgets
  • Ensure project deadlines are met by providing proper scheduling, coordination, and organization of available resources
  • Establish and maintain relationships through excellent communication, professionalism, and client service focus

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in materials testing, special inspection, construction management, and/or other construction-related engineering services
  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated project management experience including budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, client coordination, and subcontractor management
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintain composure, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass drug test
  • Able to use a company provided laptop or tablet computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • A good work ethic, attention to detail, and high level of personal integrity
  • Hiring preference given to those with ACI, ICC, Caltrans, AASHTO, NICET certifications, previous field and/or laboratory experience, and Project management certifications such as PMP, CCM, or equivalent

Salary Range

The expected salary range for the position is $75,850 - $126,585 annually. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
