Construction Materials Testing - Engineering Technician
About the Role
Terracon is seeking several Construction Materials Technicians to join our team in Lincoln, NE. In this role, you will perform observations and tests on construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, and asphalt. You will communicate testing and inspection results with Project Managers, client representatives, contractors, and other key stakeholders. Testing is conducted on building construction projects in the Lincoln area and in Terracon laboratories.
Successful candidates will receive in-depth technical training and professional certifications as they advance within 1-2 years. Responsibilities
- Under close supervision, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations.
- Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
- Communicate information to the Project Manager and discuss data accuracy in preparation for submittal.
- Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.
- Progressively take on increased training and responsibility in work assignments.
- Maintain assigned equipment.
- Follow safety rules and practices for all projects, including pre-task planning and reporting safety issues to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months of related experience required.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
Qualifications
- Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
- Preferred: Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
