About the role

The Water Infrastructure Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of culvert projects within water management initiatives. This role involves coordinating with engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all applicable standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive construction management plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource management for construction oversight.
• Provide construction cost estimates and conduct constructability reviews.
• Supervise construction teams, providing direction and support to ensure high levels of productivity and safety.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
• Act as the main liaison between stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and project partners.
• Monitor all phases of construction to maintain quality standards and adherence to project specifications.
• Identify potential risks associated with construction activities and develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare regular updates and progress reports for senior management and relevant stakeholders using web-based systems such as eBuilder.

Requirements

• 15+ years’ experience in large water infrastructure construction management work.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, or significant experience in the associated field.
• Proven experience in managing infrastructure projects, particularly in large pump stations or water resource construction.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of construction methods, safety protocols, and environmental impact assessments.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with Florida Water Management District construction projects.
