Construction Manager / Project DirectorLocation: Phoenix, AZ (Greater Phoenix Area) Compensation: $140,000 - $180,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonus Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site Start Date: Immediate OpportunityAbout the OpportunityA well-established and growing construction services organization is seeking an experienced Construction Manager / Project Director to lead a team of Project Managers and oversee a diverse portfolio of commercial construction and retrofit projects throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, project execution, financial performance, team development, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who can balance the big picture while remaining engaged in the details that ensure successful project delivery.If you have extensive experience managing construction operations, developing project teams, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, this could be an outstanding opportunity to advance your career with a respected industry leader.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop a team of 5-10 Project Managers and project support personnel.Establish departmental priorities, goals, and performance expectations to ensure operational success.Oversee project execution from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.Collaborate with estimating, operations, and finance teams to support project planning, forecasting, and execution.Review estimates, project budgets, schedules, and cost reports to ensure financial objectives are achieved.Assign project leadership resources and help balance workloads across multiple ongoing projects.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.Lead project review meetings and provide guidance on complex project challenges.Support business development efforts through client engagement and technical expertise.Monitor staffing requirements and assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and employee development.Ensure proper project documentation, contract administration, and project controls are maintained.Visit project sites regularly to evaluate quality, safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.Analyze industry trends, market conditions, and competitive opportunities to support business growth.Oversee equipment, tools, and operational resources to maximize efficiency and project success.Respond to customer concerns and provide solutions that strengthen long-term relationships.Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.Qualifications10+ years of experience within commercial construction, mechanical contracting, HVAC, industrial, or related construction environments.Proven experience leading project teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.Background in estimating, project planning, cost control, and construction operations.Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.Experience overseeing budgets, forecasting, scheduling, and financial performance.Ability to build relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.Demonstrated ability to develop teams, drive accountability, and achieve business objectives.Why Consider This Opportunity?Senior leadership position with significant influence on company operations and growth.Competitive base salary and strong bonus potential.Stable local project portfolio with minimal overnight travel.Opportunity to lead and grow an experienced project management team.Visible role within a growing organization that values operational excellence and employee development. #TPGSJ #EEM
