CONSTRUCTION MANAGER REQUIREMENT: MUST LIVE IN / OR RELOCATE TO LOS ANGELES, CA AREA Minimum Requirements: BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Experience in working on water/wastewater projects and/or related heavy civil public works projects. Excellent communication skills; ability to prepare reports and present to management and other stakeholder. Minimum of 7 years of experience overseeing civil construction projects in the US. Preferred Qualifications: PE or CCM CertificationExperience in Alternate Delivery methods i.e. Design/Build Typical Duties: Assist the Owner in issuing the Notice to Proceed and coordinate the Pre-Construction MeetingReport to the project site daily and oversee (not direct) the construction project to ensure contractor performance according to plans and specificationsOversee daily construction activities to construct stormwater diversion structures, pump stations, and related infrastructure. Related work could include demolition, grading, pipelines, concrete structures, mechanical equipment, pre-cast concrete tanks, paving, landscaping, electrical infrastructure, ancillary support structures, instrumentation and controls, SCADA/HMI, etc. Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulationsLead and document weekly OAC meetings and other required meetingsCoordinate with design teams, contractors, and public agencies to resolve field issues and maintain schedule integrityCoordinate quick responses to RFIs, and Submittals. Negotiate change orders fairly and per Public Contracts Code and Contract General Conditions. Review, confirm, and recommend approval of contractor's payment requestsActively participate in Partnering sessionsMonitor progress against baseline schedules and budgets; implement corrective actions as neededWork with Inspector of Record to ensure proper inspections, materials testing, shop inspections, and quality control reviews.
