About the role
Kelly Engineering is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the electrical installation phase of large-scale data center projects. You will coordinate electrical subcontractors, manage field execution, monitor project costs and schedules, and ensure installations are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You’ll work closely with the Lead Project Manager, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to drive successful project delivery from installation through completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the installation activities for electrical subcontractors on data center projects.
- Monitor project schedules and field execution to ensure milestones are met.
- Help deliver projects on time and within established budget targets.
- Serve as a key liaison between the client, subcontractors, and internal project team.
- Partner with the Project Manager to develop labor plans, resource schedules, and quality control processes.
- Ensure subcontractor work aligns with contract requirements, project scope, and company standards.
- Identify scope changes, coordinate change orders, and communicate impacts to project stakeholders.
- Track project costs, forecasts, earned value, contingencies, and estimated cost at completion.
- Provide regular project status updates and communicate risks, delays, and mitigation plans.
- Coordinate with operations and project teams to ensure the right personnel and resources are available throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify project risks and implement solutions to keep projects moving forward.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of construction management and/or project management experience supporting data center or mission-critical facilities projects.
- Strong understanding of construction management principles, project execution, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Experience managing electrical subcontractors on commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Background in industrial controls within data center environments.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with clients, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States with US residency at the time of application; sponsorship is not available.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of low-voltage electrical installations, including conduit, cabling, and related infrastructure.
- Experience using project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project.
Pay
Targeted pay rate: $75–90/hr depending on experience and qualifications. Per diem is available for qualified candidates based on eligibility requirements.
